I grew up in the Vancouver public school system at a time when heading south for university was a rarity. Guidance was scarce, and for most of us, the path ended at the provincial border. I remember a close friend mentioning that his brother had gone to Duke. Since the SAT allowed me to send scores to four schools for free, I decided to toss an application to Duke University as my fourth choice—frankly, without even knowing where Durham, North Carolina was on a map.
It turned out to be the 'dumbest lucky' decision I’ve ever made.
That one application opened a door I didn't even know existed. My time at Duke launched a whirlwind career that followed—spanning finance and technology across the U.S. and Asia, with roles at firms ranging from nascent startups to global corporations like Amazon Web Services and BASIS International Schools.
I’ve spent the last decade navigating global markets and academic systems, but my true passion has always been the development of the young people within them. I launched Bricks to Stone Education to ensure that for some, life-changing opportunities like university admissions aren't left to a lucky fourth choice.
I am here to replicate the admissions success I’ve achieved for my students by providing the deliberate, strategic guidance I wish I had years ago.
